Caddy Crane

OK, so the weld is a bit lumpy. It's my first one in 40 years. But after picking up the Camaro front clip while jumping my 200 pound additional weight on it, there are no cracks.. .

The weld on this side is a bit better. The opposite side was where the beginning and ending welds came together.

MODIFIED ! . The original stub weld started to crack, So I rethought all this and cut the thing off and rewelded with a bit more thought put into it.

That frame in the background is the S-10 complete frame that I got for 100 bucks, going to cut it up and use the front "clip" for the '49.

Works with the back door up OR down. When up, you can see what's going on.

CADDY CRANE ! ! ! That's the S-10 full frame in the background. The front clip will be cut off and welded to the '49 frame. Then the Jaguar rear end will be incorporated.

Decided that the crane needed some tie-backs to take some of the load so the trailer hitch socket does not take all the load.

Tied it back to the rear seat support/mounts with clips and turnbuckles.

Criss-crossing the cables keeps things stable so the crane doesn't flop back and forth when you are moving your load.

New arrangement of the Caddy Crane to lift heavy objects. Putting a loosely mounted chain keeps the load from swinging around too much while moving.

This is called easy lifting for about a 300 pound Jaguar Complete rear end.. Boy that Caddy Crane surely comes in handy.
