Thursday, July 29th, the last time baby cat was here trying to catch a bug...... It's been over a week now.... sad...Also, Mr. Manx has only been here on the average of every couple of days, and seems to be moving slower than normal.

Ok, this better/may stop it. hahaha...scrap foam padding that I had left over from insulating the underside of the hood on The Judge. I have to press down on the lid to set the screw on the cover, and it shouldn't be able to be "jiggled".. we shall see... notice how dirty the box is near the bottom

Edit: the next sentence is an error because I found it there is a button on the front of the feeder to dump food. ----I have discovered how they are doing it. If the little rotator wheel inside the feeder is jiggled just a little bit, it is enough to allow a few pellets to drop through. I may rebuild the spikes with long screws that CANNOT be bent, and a bit longer. I'm so mad..............

Old torn up spike bar. It did not work because the nails were too easy to bend and they were able to reach up and punch the feeder button that I didn't even know was on the front of the feeder

New Spike bar these nails are a little bit bigger (predrilled holes 3/32" so they wouldn't split the wood) and they are going to have a hell of a time bending any of these plus they are mounted lower plus I've got some nails going around the sides

UPDATE: this configuration was not optimum because there's not enough room for Mr Manx to get his head down into the bowl he has been scraping the food out onto the porch and eating off the porch.

This calls for yet another modification to the spike bar. It sticks out too far from the box and Mr Manx has to dig it out with his paw and eat it off of the porch

Hopefully this is the last modification. I adjusted the position of the feeder inside the box all the way to the front and then shaved off about 3/8 of an inch off the front of the spike bar soap he can dine at his leisure
