Replacing the Fuel Filler with Door Type
I got this kit from Yogi's in Monticello, Iowa. The plan was to mount this below the driver's side tail light, as I saw a guy at the Lone Star Roundup do. Well, he must have had a different manufacturer because this assembly is waaay too wide to fit there and still be flat, so I'll be mounting it in the same place as the original fuel filler. Since I moved the location, I sent back the 45 and 90 degree hoses and just used the 2.25" to 2" reducer hose.
5/10/2016 - Had to fabricate a connector from the gas tank connection to the fuel filler neck - was a little tough to get the measurements correct for angles - from left over 2.25" exhaust pipe. After cutting four 22.5 degree slots in the pipe, bending the small part left over, and welding, did a leak test and yes, it leaked. After research, decided to use JB Weld "Kwik" (6 minutes cure time) epoxy to seal. Did my best to smear some on the inside too. Made a plug for one end, filled it up with water, and after about 15 minutes, nothing was wet !!! Guess it worked !
